As many of you know, I recently got hitched! My husband, wow that feels weird to say, and I decided that we did not want to sacrifice time spent traveling somewhere for our honeymoon and landed on Belize. Not only was it only a quick two-hour direct flight from Fort Lauderdale, but it also provided the sense of escape in a tropical environment we wanted without breaking the bank.
As newlyweds, Richard and I decided that after the craziness that comes with the wedding, we wanted to put our feet up and not worry about a thing during our vacation. Researching for weeks, we stumbled upon an all-inclusive resort in Hopkins Bay, Belizean Dreams (link to https://www.belizeandreams.com/). The staff was incredible,
always with a smile on their face and accommodating in every way. The chef even changed the menu just for my dairy allergy! 5 stars in my book.
With a drink constantly in hand, Richard and I read peacefully in hammocks along the beach, traversed the ancient Mayan ruins, propelled through the rainforest on a zip line, snorkeled with gorgeous sea life, explored crystal underwater caves, ate an impressive amount of delicious food all without a sunburn. Needless to say, we had a hard time adjusting to reality when we returned a week later.
Vacations are super important to your health and wellness. Do not forget to take time to reset your mind, energy and spirit, your body will thank you.
