Let’s talk budget. One of the biggest red flags for us when onboarding a new client is when someone says they don’t have a budget. Sure, I understand that they need a general idea of what the project could cost to be able to give us a concrete answer but, what’s your ceiling? Everybody has a limit!
In my opinion, people often believe if they give us a budget we will just expand the design to meet it. That’s not the case!
We have thousands of options for materials and furniture at our fingertips. If you don’t give us parameters we could be specifying a $25/ square foot tile when you can only afford flooring that costs $2/ square foot. We’ll stay in our lane but it’s up to our clients to paint the marks on the highway!
