You’re probably asking yourself, what does she even mean by an interior refresh? Many of our commercial clients request a refresh of their space, meaning they don’t want to undertake major construction, but still desire to update their space. They want some new life breathed into it. While we prefer to be able to manipulate the interior architecture of a space, we understand that some client’s have shorter leases that don’t justify an entire interior overhaul. Budget always comes into play as well, you can read more on the importance of the B word here.
Even though we are only affecting the surfaces, we really want the space to appear transformed. Here are the three elements we take into consideration when refreshing an interior space:
1. Wall Materials
Of course painting the walls can really adjust the look and feel but, we typically like to go a little further by adding texture. We accomplish this with the use of wallcoverings, acoustical panels or raw elements.
Possibly the most important aspect to Interior Design is the lighting. Lighting can quite literally make or break a space. Did you know that the color temperature of lighting can affect a person's mood? If the color temperature is not consistent, the space will appear dated no matter what you do. Lumen output is also crucial since dimly lit interiors appear drab.
3. Art + Accessories
What I call the cherry on top, the styling of art and accessories goes a long way in making a space appears interesting and up-to-date. For a minimal investment, you can really elevate the environment. We have a wide range of suppliers on both the local and national levels that support our team with these selections.
