“I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.” - Maya Angelou
Breast cancer is a battle that affects not only the individuals fighting the disease, but also their loved ones and the community at large. In recognition of this, the Breast Rest Retreat was established to provide a safe haven for survivors, a.k.a. Boobie Queens, to celebrate life, connect, and find solace. If you aren’t familiar with The Boobie Queen Co, or it’s founder Whitney O’Connor, it is a nonprofit that crowns women who have fought the battle of breast cancer, and empowers them to find ways to celebrate life! This retreat owes its success to the support and generosity of its sponsors who play an integral role in making the retreat a reality. To express gratitude and celebrate their unwavering generosity, a reception dinner was organized by Jewel Toned Interiorsand Alison South Marketing for the sponsors of the Breast Rest Retreat.

The reception dinner took place at Little’s Photography in Fort Lauderdale. Jennifer Little, the co-owner and operator of Little’s Photography, graciously hosted the sponsors and Boobie Queens that night. The ambiance exuded warmth and sophistication. The studio was adorned with many well crafted and vibrant pictures frames and displayed many of Little’s Photogrpahy’s portraits. Joy and laughter filled the air as everyone mingled and created meaningful connections. Haley Weigle, from Alison South Marketing, welcomed everyone with a quick speech to welcome in Whitney. In her heartfelt speech , she touched on her journey as a Breast Cancer Survivor, expressed gratitude to the sponsors who have shown support for the Breast Rest Retreat and The Boobie Queen Co. She even offered for the sponsors to take a Boobie Crown for anyone in their life that might be battling Breast Cancer or have survived.

From there, other sponsors shared their words, along with some of the Boobie Queens. To be in a room full of benevolent sponsors who can face the Boobie Queens they have positively affected was very soul-stirring. It’s always a gift to be able to look into the eyes of people who’ve helped and impacted. Because of the sponsors, the Boobie Queens, who were all once strangers just three months ago, now have formed a sisterhood that they cherish. A huge thank you again to all of our sponsors, this event was a testament to the remarkable strength of survivors and the profound impact that community support can have on their lives.
