SUNSHINE LAUNDRY CENTER

It’s always fun to embark on a new project type and this one was a first for every member of our team!  The owner of sunshine laundry centers, a chain of laundromats located a few hours north of our office, was referred to us by a childhood friend of Joy’s.  He wanted to freshen the space and make it a nice destination for his customers to dwell.  What a wonderful way to look at a laundry center, as it truly is an extension of a customer’s home.  JTI was also contracted to create an overall branding package allowing the interior design to be truly cohesive from an aesthetics standpoint. 

With a name like sunshine, it was easy to envision a space that was light and airy with hints of sunny yellow throughout.  We added a wood focal wall to balance the rows of stainless machinery necessary to operate.  The concrete floor was polished with a rectangle portion stained blue in the center that grounds the entire space.  The icon next to the Sunshine Laundries logo relates to this specific business in three ways: water inside a circle represents the washing machines and the lines radiating out represent the “ON” button with the entire icon appearing to be a sun, shining. 

Oversized fans circulate air within an exposed ceiling painted bright white.  On the wall, fun phrases “let’s get ready to tumble” and “watch a soap opera here” poke fun at the otherwise arduous task at hand.  At the storefront, countertops provide a place for customers to charge their electronic devices while they wait. Cheerful and bright, the sunshine laundry center offers an interior space that’s so fresh and so clean, clean!
